Boca Raton, Florida - Our beloved mother and grandmother, Marjorie Ricardo-Mestre, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Marjorie was 79 years old.
Marjorie was born on July 7, 1945, to Louisa Pupo (Cesar Suarez) & Carlos Ricardo in Sagua de Tanamo, Cuba. After Marjorie graduated from Accounting School with a bachelor's degree, she would soon meet and fall in love with Rolando Mestre and they soon married. They came to the U.S. in 1966 and lived in the city of Philadelphia, Pa. before settling in Bucks County, Pa.
In Pennsylvania, Marjorie worked numerous jobs until she worked with her husband in their dry cleaning business where she did everything from dry cleaning, tailoring, and customer service. She would take time off for a few years to raise her two children, Carlos and Elizabeth. In 1985, they moved to Boca Raton, Florida where they continued working in the dry cleaning business until they retired in 2012 after 40 years in business. After her beloved husband Rolando passed in 2014, Marjorie spent her remaining years spending time with her family.
Marjorie was an exemplary mother figure and human being who was the heart and soul of our entire family. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her loved ones. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. She touched so many lives that we could not list them all if we tried. She will be deeply missed.
Marjorie is survived by her family members, including her son Carlos, her daughter Elizabeth, her son-in-law Rick, her brothers Carlos, Frank, and Jerry, her sister-in-laws Hilda and Lila, her sister Vanessa, her brother-in-law Emilio, her five grandchildren, Alexander, Andrew, Zachary, Victoria, and Lucas and her great-grandson Finn.
To honor Marjorie, hug your family members each and every day. Tell them you love them each and every day. That is who Marjorie was and this would have brought her tremendous joy.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at St. Joan of Arc in Boca Raton with a reception to follow.
