Marilyn W. Stephenson

Marilyn Adele Stephenson, 92 of West Palm Beach (formerly of Boca Raton FL, Cape Elizabeth ME, Potomac, MD, and Portland, ME) died from Heart Disease on July 22, 2021 at the Capstone surrounded by friends and loving family.  She was born on July 3, 1929 in Randolph, ME, to Bernard L Wolfe & Susie Levine.  She graduated from Portland High school and Westbrook College in Portland, ME.  Raised during the great depression and coming of age after WWII, Marilyn married Donald J Nelson in 1946.  Marilyn collected friends and antiques. She was artistic, a bookworm, and a decorator. She loved to travel and volunteered at the Portland Opera, Girl Scouts, libraries in Boca Raton, and in Hospitals for many years.  In 1964 she married the love of her life Dr. Richard B. Stephenson of Cape Elizabeth, ME. 

Marilyn is survived by her beloved children Jim Nelson (Ana), Judy Harper, Dick Stephenson, Peter Stephenson (Maureen), & Scott Stephenson (Debra); her grandchildren Arthur Nelson, Winston Nelson, Rebecca Harper, Shep Stephenson, Ellie Stephenson, Hilary Stephenson, Jessica Prince, and 12 nieces & nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband and siblings Rosalyn, Evelyn, and Morton; and her great friends Marvis Cohen, Reva Goodman, Harry Zaitlin, Shirley Wolfe,  She is survived by family and friends Ethyl Young, Jocelyn Pollard, Lenore Burakoff, Linda Zaitlin Gould, Fifi Swerling, & Anders Erickson.

A memorial Service will be held at the Glick Funeral Home at 3600 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton, FL 33431, on Monday July 26, 2021 at 2 pm.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Heart Association.
