Marie Therese Eugene, 87, a resident of Deerfield Beach, passed away at her residence on Friday, March 27, 2026. She was the loving mother of Claude Bernard Seide, grandmother to Emory Nazaire Seide, and sister to her five remaining siblings: Reynold Eugene Sr, Onide Jasmine, Gilberte Gazemar, Bertrand Eugene, and Ismael Eugene Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents Ismael Eugene Sr, and Adelemonde Louis as well as her two sisters Emeline Eugene Perrin and Junie Eugene Pierre.
 

Marie was born and raised in Port-a-Piment, a small coastal town in the southwest province of Haiti, situated along the shores of the Gulf of Gonave. She moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1981 where she pursued a career in the medical field. In 1999 she retired as a nurse from Faulkner Hospital after nearly 15 years of service. She later devoted herself to foster care, where she loved and cared for many children over a 13-year span. In 2015, she was happy to join her son Claude in Florida where she enjoyed her golden years of retirement.

After a Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2022, Marie was cared for greatly by her son, Claude, and her niece, Marie George “Mageot”. Despite her battle with Parkinsons, Marie’s faith never wavered, and her spirit never dimmed.  Marie spent her last days praying fiercely out of love and devotion to her family and friends. She proudly expressed her love through prayer and meditation and consistently sought God on behalf of others. Marie was a constant source of peace and a beacon of strength for many.

In addition to her son and siblings, Marie is survived by her beloved family tree of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Viewing will be held at Glick Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431 on Saturday April 18 from 10-11am. Funeral Service will be held directly after from 11am to 12:30pm. Cremation will take place following the service.
