Maria Leonora Drake

First born to Gerasimos and Vasilea (Nicolelis) Dracousis.
Born October 30, 1952 in Boston, Massachusetts. She passed away in the home of her sister and brother-in-law, surrounded by family, on February 17, 2026 at the age of 73. Eldest of two girls. As a young girl, she studied voice for several years and excelled at it. Maria graduated from Hofstra University with her bachelors in social sciences. She went onto work in several different capacities. She loved people and appreciated the smallest gesture of kindness. She was very thoughtful and never forgot anyone’s birthday. Her cards were always the first to arrive.

She adored all of her nephews and nieces, cousins and extended family and friends. All who knew her have a story they could tell and each one always has a touch of dry humor. She was easy to laugh and easy to Love.     

Maria is survived by her sister, Stephanie Christakis, brother-in-law John Christakis, their children and grandchildren.

May her memory be eternal and may she rest with our risen, Lord.
