Marguerite Rose Brigantic Clifford, 82, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 with her family by her side.
Born on December 23, 1943, Marguerite lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others. A woman of deep Catholic devotion, her faith guided her every step and shaped the way she loved, gave, and showed up for the people in her life.
Marguerite was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Deacon Francis X. Clifford, who passed away in 2000, and by her son-in-law, Daniel S. Ruess, III, who passed in 1998.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her three daughters: Elizabeth Aiello (and her husband John F. Aiello, Jr. ), Jacqueline Ruess, and Jeannine Morejon (and her husband Carlos Morejon). She was the proud and loving grandmother to Daniel S. Ruess, IV, John F. Aiello, III, Michael Francis Ruess, Nicholas James Aiello, Matthew Francis Morejon, Thomas Michael Aiello and Stephen James Morejon. Being with her family was the greatest joy of her life. Time spent together—whether in conversation, laughter, or quiet moments—meant everything to her.
Professionally, Marguerite was the Director of Religious Education when she lived in New York. When she moved to Florida she began helping others through volunteer work. Her compassion and commitment eventually led her to become a full-time employee with an Alzheimer’s respite program, where she cared deeply for families navigating one of life’s hardest journeys. It was work that reflected her heart—kind, patient, and selflessness. She then went on to work at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in different roles. She ran the bookstore for years and then ended up in their accounting office until she retired.
Marguerite loved to read and draw, finding peace and creativity in simple, quiet moments. She was funny, incredibly intelligent, kind, sincere, and genuine. Above all, she was an amazing human being whose presence made people feel seen, safe, and loved. Her warmth, wisdom, and gentle humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In honoring Marguerite’s life, the family invites those who loved her to remember her through acts of kindness, faith, and love for one another—just as she lived every day of her life.
