Margaret Louise Henry, of Boca Raton, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2020. Known to her many friends as “Lu,” she was born on September 14, 1926, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Paul F. Anderson and Margaret Sheridan.
Lu was “the Story Lady,” an expressive and accomplished storyteller. She wrote several of the stories she told, and adapted others. Many were based on Bible stories. Often she appeared in costume and in character; for example, as Mrs. Noah. All her stories portrayed the love of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Lu’s storytelling grew out of her teaching women’s Sunday school classes and Bible studies for many years at Bethel Chapel in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. She grew many friendships and nurtured them through conversations, letters, cards, phone calls, and those friendships enriched the stories she told and enlivened her telling. Most of all, her storytelling was inspired by her faith. She loved the Lord. She sought to live to the praise of God’s glory.
When Lu was twelve, she began taking piano lessons from a young musician named Roland Henry. Ten years later, following Roland’s return from service in World War 2, Lu and Roland were married. They shared their love for each other, and for the Lord, for 69 years. Lu and Roland supported Christian colleges and missions, took part in evangelistic outreach, and visited several missions around the world.
Lu was predeceased by her husband Roland, and by her niece Shannon.
She is survived by her son David and his wife Mary, by her daughter Lois, by her grandchildren T. J., Kelly, and Robyn, by her brother Paul and his wife Bobbi, and by her nephews P. Andrew and his wife Kristina, and Sean and his daughter Calypso.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews South in Boca Raton, Florida, at a later date.
