Marco Paulo Costa, 51, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 5, 1974, in Waterbury, Connecticut. Marco was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Evelyn Costa, and a proud and loving father to Marco Antonio Costa (13) and Sofia Gisela Costa (2). His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Marco was a truly beautiful human being with a kind heart and generous spirit. He had a natural gift for connecting with others and a deep passion for serving and uplifting those around him. He was known for his warmth, his sincerity, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and welcome.
Proud of his Portuguese heritage, Marco carried a deep love for Portugal, the homeland of his parents, Manuel de Jesus Costa and Francelina Ministro. He enjoyed sharing that passion with others—whether through recommending travel, enjoying traditional Portuguese cuisine, or celebrating the culture he held so close to his heart. A passionate soccer enthusiast, Marco played soccer during high school and earned a college scholarship for the sport. He remained a lifelong, devoted fan—especially of FC Porto—and admired Cristiano Ronaldo as one of his favorite players. Marco had a love for life that extended beyond borders. He was an avid traveler, spending a semester abroad in the Netherlands, and spoke five languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch. He also had a refined appreciation for wine and enjoyed exploring and sharing that passion with others. Professionally, Marco built a successful career in the banking industry spanning over 20 years. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Teikyo Post University in 1996, after graduating from Sacred Heart High School in 1992. Most recently, he served as Vice President at South State Bank, where he was respected for his leadership, integrity, and dedication.
Marco leaves behind his loving wife, Evelyn; his children, Marco Antonio and Sofia Gisela; his parents, Manuel de Jesus Costa and Francelina Ministro; his sister, Paula Costa White; his brother-in-law, George White; his nephews, George Manuel White and Caleb White; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Marco’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and connection. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his joyful spirit, and the countless lives he touched.
