In Loving Memory of Luz Thibodeaux

May 10, 1948 – July 19, 2025

With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Luz Thibodeaux on July 19, 2025, in Boca Raton, Florida, at the age of 77.

Born on May 10, 1948, in Samar, Philippines, to Consolacion and Juan Celespara, Luz’s life was one of strength and devotion. She immigrated to Michigan in 1990, where she built a loving home for over two decades before settling in Boca Raton, her cherished home for the past 11 years.

Luz had a gift for sewing, a love of gardening, and a heart that radiated kindness, humility, and unwavering compassion.  A faithful member of Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ), her faith was the steady foundation of her life and a guiding light for her family.

Preceded in death by her first husband, Luis T. Sevilla, Jr., and second husband, Donald R. Thibodeaux, she is lovingly remembered by her children and grandchildren:

Ferdinand (Anna) – Neil, Aldrin, Lael

Geraldine (Ferdinand) – Alfred, Alvin, Al-Jeremy

Luisito (Anna) – Anna Luisa, Lorraine, Lucy Mae

Percival (Vambi) – Luiza, Marcus, Lamar

Joy (Ariel) – Aiden, Sid

Ivy (Jonard) – Abigail

Jyl (Corey) – Jessica, Benjamin, Aria

Luz is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Erlinda, Carmen, Clodualdo, Johnny, Marina, Nestor, Nito, Alfredo, and Dino. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dina.
