Luke Heller, beloved son, brother, grandson, great-grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the age of 11. Just one day later, on December 8, he would have celebrated his 12th birthday.
From the very beginning, Luke faced the challenges of a rare genetic disease, but he never let it dim his light or his joy. He lived every day to the fullest, filling the world around him with love, laughter, and an indescribable warmth. His radiant smile and contagious giggle could brighten any room, and he had a special way of making people feel uniquely seen and cherished.
The impact Luke made in his short time is immeasurable. He taught his family and community the true meaning of patience, kindness, and gratitude. He reminded us to slow down, to notice beauty in the smallest things, and to lead with empathy. Luke’s life was a powerful reminder that love, unfiltered and unconditional, has no boundaries.
Luke is deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by his parents, Noah and Jody Heller; his older sister, Lucy; his younger brother, Levi; and his eight first cousins: Sophie, Jack, Rosie, Emma, Abby, Olivia, Ben, and Ellie. He is also survived by his grandparents, David and Andrea Cohen, and Sheila and Irwin Heller; great grandmother, Irene Gilberg: his aunts and uncles, Allison, Greg, Jen, Sam, Lauren, and Dwight; as well as countless extended family members and friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Though his time with us was far too short, Luke’s light will continue to guide us. His memory will forever be a blessing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Luke may be made to the Temple Beth El Yahrzeit Fund (note “In memory of Luke Heller”), where contributions will help create a memorial bench in the garden https://tbeboca.shulcloud.com/payment.php?donation_type_id=7639320, or to the Aleph Academy Scholarship Fund at Chabad of the North Shore, where he went to school for many years https://www.nsjewish.com/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/4199170/jewish/Donate.htm
May Luke’s sweet soul rest in peace.
