Lucia Bottaro Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lucia Bottaro (DiNatalie), who left us peacefully on October 3, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on April 10, 1932, Lucia lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, dedicated to her family and passions.

Lucia was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Originally from Floridia, Sicily, she came to the United States at the age of 16. She found joy in her work as a small business owner, running a cherished fruit store in Newington, Connecticut, where she built lasting relationships with her customers. Later in life, she embraced her artistic talents as a seamstress in Florida, creating beautiful garments that showcased her skill and creativity."

Lucia was not only known for her professional accomplishments but also for her many hobbies. She had a fondness for collecting items from Italy wanting to keep her heritage alive in her heart and home. She also had a green thumb, nurturing her garden daily and finding joy in the beauty of her flowers and herbs. Her love for preparing elaborate meals, especially the Italian recipes she joyfully taught her family to cook, will continue to be cherished in her memory.

Lucia also had a remarkable gift for storytelling, often captivating her family with tales from her early childhood in Italy, World War II, the joys of running her store, and proudly celebrating her family's accomplishments. Her stories not only brought the family together, but will also serve as a cherished thread that will keep her memory alive in their hearts and homes

Lucia is survived by her son, Joe Bottaro; sister, Josephine Tine; and her grandchildren: Cristin Hebert, Jennifer Bottaro, Sarah Bottaro, Kyle Bottaro, and Christopher Bottaro. She also cherished her daughters-in-law, Daryl Bottaro and Deborah Bottaro, as well as her son-in-law, Gary Hebert. Lucia was a proud great-grandmother to Cameron Spicer, Hannah Bottaro and Seth Bottaro, who brought her immense joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Salvatore Bottaro; sister, Maria Tralongo; brother, Antonino DiNatalie; daughter, Constance “Tina” Hebert; son, Vincenzo Bottaro; and granddaughter, Cheryl Hebert.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Noon, followed by a service at 1 PM at Glick Family Funeral Home, located at 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431.

Lucia's warm spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and creativity will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
