Lorraine Salisbury Talsma passed away peacefully on 7/20/23 at the age of 97. Born in Long Island, NY, she was the daughter of Gerhart Salisbury, a successful musician, and his wife Lillian Bruckman. She lived her early adulthood though the WWII, and moved to South Bend, IN after the war, where she met and married Philip Glassman, a commercial contractor. Together, they raised 3 sons, Jon, Tim, and Scott. She loved to dance, swim, fish, needlepoint, crochet, sew, and being the best mom she could be. While raising a family, she sewed custom draperies in the basement and later opened a successful business called Hobby Haven.
After the kids were out of the house, she moved to South Florida, where she lived for many years. Lorraine was quite the entrepreneur, starting a salon and a consignment store. She later became a million-dollar sales relator on the West coast of Florida. After retirement, she moved back to South Florida where she lived happily near her son Tim and his wife Nancy for the rest of her life.
Lorraine was preceded in death by by mother, Lillian Bruckman, father Gerhart Salisbury, brothers Jerry Salisbury(Elaine), Richard (Dolores), sister Charlotte Laheta (John), husbands Philip Glassman, Bill Talsma and son Jon Glassman, nephews Johnny Laheta, Jimmy Salisbury, Lee Salisbury.
She was survived by sons Tim Glassman(Nancy), Scott Glassman(Susan), Daughter-in-law Peggy Glassman, grandchildren Amy(Shane Colins), Jody Glassman Jessica(Travis Boginski), Elizabeth Burney, Andrew Glassman, Matt Glassman(Bridget), Ben Glassman(Shannon), niece JoAnne Lloyd, nephew Bill Laheta(Christie), great grandchildren Jenna Collins, Ty Collins, Casston Glassman, Bayli (Glassman) Cline, Maggie Glassman, Rileigh Glassman, Owen Boginski, Kylie Burney, Mackenzie Burney, Elijah Glassman, Tylor Glassman, Ashton Vicnaire, Dillan Vicnaire, Maxwell Glassman
