Liselotte Friedman, 91, of Delray Beach passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Liselotte was born Liselotte Gebhard on April 2, 1931, to Georg and Anna Gebhard in Landsberg, Germany. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Peter Friedman, her son Mark Friedman and his wife Weiyan Tan, her daughter Michele Tygar and her husband Neil Tygar and four grandchildren, Farrah Tygar, Ian Tygar, Seth Friedman and Anna Friedman, all of whom loved her dearly.
She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting dinner parties for her family and many friends. She loved her family and was a loving and supportive grandmother known as Oma to her grandchildren. Liselotte was a kind and intelligent woman who cared for others more than herself. She had a talent for connecting with people and throughout her life was a loyal friend to
many. She had a great ability because of her warmth to draw people to her and engage them in conversation.
Liselotte had a master's degree in mathematics and taught grade school in Germany before coming to the United States in 1964. She settled in New York where she raised her children as a deeply devoted mother. She worked for several years in her husband's dental practice where she became an integral part of that practice and in 1994, she retired and moved to South Florida. Liselotte will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11:30 AM - 12 PM on Monday, February 13 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton where a Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 Noon. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, February 13 at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth.
