Lisa J. Cournoyer

Lisa Jean Cournoyer, age 62, passed peacefully at home on April 27, 2023. Lisa was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing, and is survived by her husband of almost 34 years, Serge Cournoyer (age 58), her sweet and kind son Matthew Cournoyer (age 30), and her caring and loving, daughter Caitlyn Cournoyer (age 24). Lisa’s family meant the world to her, and she could not wait to see her husband Serge flourish in his new job, her son Matthew enjoying the presence of friends and family, and her daughter Caitlyn who is about to graduate from law school and begin a judicial clerkship in Passaic county criminal court in New Jersey, in the same county where Lisa was born and raised.

Lisa loved everything about her quiet life with her family in South Florida. She was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed activities with her family such as boating, spending time outdoors, and any type of activity where she didn’t have to wear shoes (but realistically sandals only).

Lisa was a graduate of William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Communications. Lisa spent the better part of her time in college working part-time for Merrill Lynch in New York City, where she eventually took a transfer to the Merrill Lynch branch in Boca Raton, Florida. After moving to Boca Raton, Florida, Lisa eventually met her husband Serge. Lisa and Serge married on May 6, 1990, in Lisa’s hometown of Totowa, New Jersey, surrounded by friends and family. Lisa always reminisced about her wedding day reminding all that her husband Serge’s family from Canada drank the bar dry, and brought cases of Canadian maple syrup as wedding gifts for the couple.

Other than her immediately family, Lisa is survived by her four siblings, Kathryn Margherita (age 67), Annamarie Winters (age 65), Paula Post (age 59), and Anthony Sangastiano (age 57), as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lisa’s celebration of life and memorial will be held at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida, on May 27, 2023 from 1-4pm. All are welcome to come and celebrate Lisa’s life with her friends and family and share kind words and lifetime stories.
