Lena Ingeborg Hill

Lena Ingeborg Hill was born on June 6th, 1944 in Stockholm Sweden to loving parents, Åke Possander and Majlis Possander.  Lena enjoyed traveling the world with her family and friends. She moved to South Africa in 1969 Lena moved to South Africa after she married Trevor Blokdyk in Stockholm on April 1 to start her family and finally moved to the USA in 1983.  She is survived by her daughter (Ingrid Noon), son (Jonathan Blokdyk) and her loving brother (Goran Possander).  

She was a high spirited, strong willed, and loving person as well as an avid Bocce player. She never missed her Friday hair appointment or Sunday Bocce match.

She had many long time friends that remember her fondly. Here is some of what they had to say.  

My sweet dear Lena. We have been best friends since we were 11 years old and went to school together in Stockholm, Sweden. We went home every day at lunchtime to walk my dog, Ricky. 

We visited each other often and kept in touch always. She and her husband Trevor visited us in the US when they lived in South Africa. When we both lived in the US we saw each other more regularly. I loved Lena’s heart and pure honesty. She was always a very smart lady and a hard worker. If you got her as a friend, she would be there always for you.  We called each other every Sunday. We shared our family and lives together.  Thank you for being a stubborn, wonderful, fun-loving friend in my life ... a blessing to my heart. Lena, you will always be with me. Ankie

Kay Ahrens

For the past several years, Jan and I have played Bocce on Sundays with Lena and the Bocce bunch.  Since Jan died in October, I have continued to play.  Last Sunday we had a commemorative lunch in Lena's Honor.

Lena and I have celebrated each other's birthdays for years.  It was always a happy time for all of us!  We went to the restaurant of the birthday girl's choice.  We had lunch and drinks.  The other two bought it for her birthday!  It was an institution for all of us. Kay

I met her when she first came to Florida, you were living with her.  We became fast friends!

I miss her dearly!
