In Loving Memory of Kevin James McCoy

Kevin James McCoy, a devoted husband, father, and dedicated public servant, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and son.  Born in New York on October 11, 1951, Kevin lived a life marked by integrity, service, and unwavering love for his family and community.

Kevin proudly served in law enforcement for nearly five decades. He began his career with the Boca Raton Police Department, where he served honorably for 27 years. Following his retirement, his commitment to keeping others safe led him to the Palm Beach County School Police Department, where he continued to serve for another 20 years. His calm presence, sharp instincts, and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who worked beside him.

While he was proud of his long career in law enforcement, Kevin’s greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Lorie; his children, Bryan and Kimberly; his grandchildren, and his loving siblings, Lorraine, Deborah, and James.

Kevin had a special bond with animals, especially dogs. He shared a unique companionship with his beloved pup Matilda, often seen cruising the coastline together—Kevin at the wheel, and Matilda riding shotgun, both soaking in the salt air and sunshine.

Kevin will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and quiet strength. He lived a life of purpose, and his legacy of love and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
