Kevin Michael Kowal

Kevin Michael Kowal, 47, of Fort Lauderdale passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 after a long well fought battle of cancer.

Kevin was born on May 28, 1974 in Merrillville, Indiana to Gloria and the late Edwin Kowal.

He loved golfing, cooking, fishing, scuba diving, aquariums, bowling, gaming, and so many other countless hobbies and interests. 

After waiting 8 years Kevin was blessed to receive a liver donation in January 2018 from Hayleigh Shaw. He was so happy to have second chance at life but unfortunately he developed cancer. He was such a positive, bright light, and strong person who never gave up. He fought until the very end.

Kevin is survived by his wife Wendy De Groote, mother Gloria Kowal, sisters Rachel Larsen, Vicki Soto, and Natalie Kowal, brother in-laws Adrian Larsen, Manny Soto, and Dimitri De Groote, nephews Damian Larsen and Landon Soto, in-laws Marcel De Groote and Lylianne Dhamers, aunt Diana Cavico, and his best bud Gizmo.

All will miss his sense of humor and the laughter and joy he shared with everyone he came in contact with.
