Julius J. Rescigno Jr. of Deerfield Beach, FL (formerly of East Haven, CT) passed away on September 28, 2021 at the age of 88 at Broward North Hospital.
He was born to the late Julius Rescigno and Nellie (Santello) Rescigno on April 8, 1933, in New Haven, CT.
Julius, a graduate from Wilbur Cross High School, enrolled into the army shortly after graduation and served his country during the Korean War. Following his tour of duty with the US Army, he became a licensed electrician and was employed by IBEW Local 90 for many years.
He is survived by his long-term loving companion, Madeline Salemme, along with her daughter Patty Salemme. His children, Michael (Karen) Rescigno of Rock Hill, SC, Paul Rescigno of East Haven, CT, and Michele (Joel) Maturo of Charlotte, NC, as well as eight grandchildren; Angela Irzyk, Ashley Hamilton, Christopher Rescigno, Jason Maturo, Paul Rescigno, Jr, Joshua Maturo, Jesse Maturo, Brianna Rescigno , eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Julius is also survived by his sisters, Rose (Pete) Zingarella of Pompano Beach, FL, Gloria (Herman) Capozzi of Branford, CT, and brother Anthony Rescigno (Lynne) of East Haven, CT.
Julius was predeceased by his brother Joseph Rescigno, daughter-in-law Elizabeth Rescigno and his former wife Adele Rescigno.
Julius was known for his great sense of humor and was always considered the life of the party. He also had a warm and loving heart, along with his warm and loving heart Julius was always a good friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be sadly missed by all his family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 am - 12 pm on Tuesday, October 19 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton where a Funeral Service will begin at Noon. A Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 19 at the South Florida National Cemetery.
