Judy Arlene Gibson passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in Delray Beach. She was surrounded by her family, friends and love at her time of passing . Judy was the oldest daughter of LeRoy and Helen Hare born on 12/22/1941 in Indianapolis Indiana.
She moved to Delray Beach with her former husband Harold Gibson and family in 1973. She and her family relocated to Boca Raton a few years later. She worked for several property management groups including Costain, The Frankel Group and J.J. Gumberg. She was proficient at her job and respected as a manager for properties from Miami to Jupiter.
She enjoyed her time with her family and friends playing cards, vacationing in the Smoky Mountains and going on over 20 cruises with her Longtime companion Harlan Wooten who sadly passed away June 28, 2024. She was also very proud to be a volunteer at Bethesda Hospital with her therapy dog Chloe where she volunteered for many years.
She is survived by her former husband, Harold Gibson and their two sons, Shane and daughter in law Karen (O'Cleary) Gibson and Ty and daughter in law Donna (Tupper) Gibson. Her absolute pride and joy were her grandchildren, Garrett, Kayla, Hunter, and Kelsey Gibson.
She is also survived by her sister La Cinda and brother in law Nelson McDuffie. Her other prides were her niece Danielle (Jeremy) , Nephew Harrison (Kristyn) McDuffie and their children Brayden, Graysen, and Aria.
She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy (Bud) and Helen Hare.
She is also survived by her longtime companion’s family Julia (Wooten) Guernsey, son in law Dale Guernsey, granddaughter Jasmine (Guernsey) Palfi and husband Matthew Palfi and their three boys Landon, Tyson and Fischer Palfi.
A self made, self taught businesswoman who was always fair and kind. With a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor she was the anchor in the storm for all of her family. Her family meant everything to her and even with her own health declining would always ask about others. Judy will be missed and loved terribly by all that knew her.
A special thank you to her sister La Cinda (Cindy) who was her caretaker and overall Saint for the past year of her life. Even while dealing with her own personal issues she insisted on watching after her sister. You are loved more than you know.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in her name to your local animal shelters or Alzhiemers organizations.
