Joseph N. Sessa, nearly 101 years old, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026.
Born on March 23, 1925, in the Bronx, New York, Joseph later made his home in Massapequa Park, New York, where he lived until 1993, before becoming a longtime resident of Highland Beach, Florida. He lived a long and meaningful life defined by devotion to his family, deep faith, and quiet strength. He was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather whose presence and example shaped generations.
Joseph honorably served in the United States Army, demonstrating steadfast commitment to his country. Following his military service, he graduated from Pace College, School of Accounting and Business Administration, in 1951, and pursued a distinguished career as a licensed accountant, practicing in both New York and Florida. He was a partner with Sessa, Fisher, and Finelli in New York, and in Florida he owned and operated First Accounting Services, where he was respected for his integrity, professionalism, and dedication to his clients.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luigi Sessa, and his mother, Antoinette Picardi Sessa; and by his siblings Linda Polizzi, Amelia Zweig, Vincent Sessa, Madeline Sessa, and Camille Marrese.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 75 years, Laura Sessa; his daughters, Annette Sessa-Galbo and Karen Catalonotto; his grandchildren, Laurén Morgan, Nicholas Galbo, and Craig Galbo (wife Jessica); his great-grandchildren, Riggs Galbo, Nash Galbo, and Maelie Galbo; and his siblings Nicholas Sessa, Caroline Pomilio, and Christopher Sessa.
Viewing will take place on Tuesday, January 20th, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 21st, at 12:00 p.m. at Ascension Catholic Church, 7250 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
Interment with military honors will follow at South Florida National Cemetery in Wellington, Florida, at 2:00 p.m.
Joseph will be remembered for his enduring love, wisdom, and the lasting legacy of faith, family, and service he leaves behind.
