Joseph Cunningham (Joe) was born September 8, 1952, in Gough, Georgia to Mr. Jessie Bell Cunningham and Mr. Samuel Walker, both who preceded him in death. An older brother, Robert Cunningham, older sister, Catherine Houston, and a nephew, Mizelle Cunningham who also preceded him in death.
Joseph lived an interesting life; he was very adventurous and full of excitement and ideas. He was a positive thinker and believed that he could conquer the world if he put his mind to it. He was an honest and respectful man, and his word was his bond. After graduating high school, Joseph joined the military where he served from 1972 to 1981. During his tenure, Joseph received numerous Certificates of Achievements for his role in command operations. Joseph was a proud son, brother, and soldier, he served us all well without regrets for the role he played in our lives. Joseph had a way of making us all laugh, and we will miss him, but we know that his Spirit is with God.
Saturday, July 10, 2021, God looked down on Joseph as he laid in his hospital bed. God put His arms around him and so sweetly said, come me my son for I have prepared a place for you to rest your weary head. Joseph leaves to cherish his memories, his sons, Lavon Lester Turner (Mother Lorrie Cunningham), Joseph Cunningham Jr, twin daughters, Jaylyn and Jazlyn Cunningham (Cynthia Hicks), Brother, Eddie Cunningham (Frances), two sisters, Eva Griffin (Jerry), Theresa Everett (Edward), Grandson, Ezra Cunningham, two God Children, Tellysavage Brown and Yolando Moye, two special cousins, Thomas Parrish (Connie) and Belinda Mitchell and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends that were a very important part of his life.
A visitation will be held from 11am - 12 pm on Saturday, July 17th at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Boca Raton where a Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM.
