Obituary

On August 26th, 2021, Josee Clerc, age 85, was prematurely taken away from her son, 2 daughters, 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters, and 2 great granddaughters and survived by her brother and her sister. She is now reunited with her husband and parents.

Originally from Corsica, born in Paris, France, she became a proud American.  She was an avid tennis, pickleball, bridge, rummy cube, and most recently with her new North Carolina friends, hand and foot player.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them.

Words cannot express how much she will be missed.

HEAVEN?

Many of us believe in Heaven.

Or we want so desperately, with all we are, to

Believe in this magical, mystical forever place.

We are not exactly sure what it is.

Or where it is.

Or what we will do once we get there.

But we believe that Heaven exists.

And we believe that our beloved…our spouse,

Our partner, our child, our parent, our sibling, our

dear relative or friend…is there, waiting for us.

We believe that when we die, there will be a grand reunion.

 And there will be.

But we do not have to wait until we die.

 For that reunion.

We do not have to wait until we, ourselves die and

“go to Heaven” until we are reunited.

 With our beloved.

 That reunion can happen today.

It is up to us.

We hold the key.

We determine the time.

I imagine, that when we die, there may be a bit of

Confusion.  On our part.  At first.

It may take us a little time to realize what has happened.  That we have left our physical body.

There may be a slight adjustment period.  When we get reacclimated.  Realigned.

 Like a fog lifting.

It may take us some time to realize that yes…this is Heaven.  This is the reunion I have been hoping for.

This is real.

The same thing happens when someone we love dies.

We think they are gone.

Vanished.

We think that there is no more relationship.

Only “in our memories and in our hearts.”

 But, the relationship continues.

Always.

The person we love that died is right here.

 Waiting.  Wanting.  Ready.

Doing everything she can do to let us know

That she is right here.

Still.

Beside us.

Above us.

Below us.

In front of us.

Behind us.

Yes, she is in that perfect song you heard at that perfect time.

In the butterfly that seemingly came out of nowhere.

The hummingbird.

The owl.

The card game of bridge.

The tennis or pickleball racquet.

The scratch off.

The uncanny “coincidence.”

The “dream.”

Yes. That is her.

As in Heaven…there may be a slight adjustment

Period…for you.  Until the fog lifts.  And you

Realize that you are not alone.

Do not make that period last longer than it needs

To last.

Say to yourself.  Over and over again.

That is her.

We are together.

Always.

The relationship continues.
