Jose Delbo Obituary

Jose Delbo, (90), of Buenos Aires, Argentina / Boca Raton, Florida, passed away on February 5, 2024.

Jose was born to Angel and Elvira, on December 9, 1933, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was in his second year of law school when, much to his father's chagrin, he announced he was going to pursue his dream of being a comic book artist in the United States.  He had a love for the American cowboys and was thrilled when offered the opportunity of illustrating Billy The Kid and the Lone Ranger.  He went on to draw for the likes of Marvel, DC, Dell, Western Publishing, Gold Key, Disney and more.  He drew over 100+ titles with his biggest runs being the Transformers and Wonder Woman.  He was the original artist of the Beatles Yellow Submarine comic book.

Jose is survived by his wife of 66 years Mabel, his two children, Paul and Silvana, his daughter-in-law Natalia and his five grandchildren, Nick, CJ, Randy, Luca & Matteo.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, Jose left his mark on the hearts of all. His legend will live on in our hearts and for all to see through his art.

The service will be at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, visitation from 5-6:30 pm with a funeral service beginning at 6:30pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
