Jolene M. (Mucci) Janes

Jolene Janes, 82, of Boca Raton, Florida went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 23, 2021.

Born on June 25, 1939 to Daniel and Jean Mucci in Monongahela, PA, she moved to Boca Raton at age 15 and graduated from Seacrest High School in 1957 and Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1960.  She married Gary Janes in 1962 and their loving union gave life to Lisa and Julie.  Jolene was an avid crafter, member of the Boca Raton Garden Club and past president of the Boca Raton Pioneer Club.  She worked tirelessly coordinating events and cultivating community at Advent Lutheran Church for more than twenty years.  She will long be remembered as a woman who loved to serve others.

Those left to cherish Jolene’s memory are her daughters, Lisa (Charles) Chalmers and Julie (Steve) Putnik; sister Dana Henderson; grandchildren, Chip (Miranda) Chalmers, Matt (Sarah) Chalmers, Andy (Sofi) Chalmers, Amanda Putnik, Gary Putnik and Evan Putnik; great-grandchildren, Abigail Chalmers and Jackson Chalmers.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Advent Lutheran Church in Boca Raton, FL.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the Advent Life Endowment Fund.
