John von Stetten

John von Stetten, age 72, of Boca Raton, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024 surrounded by his family. In his earlier years he was known for his community involvement in Boca Hoops Youth Basketball, a coach at St. Paul Lutheran School, and running a local family-owned air conditioning company for over 40 years.

He was always a friendly face around town, affectionately known as ‘Big John’ wherever he went. If you knew him, it is with certainty that he made you smile or laugh. He had the best sense of humor and you could always count on him to crack a joke or to give a witty response.

In his later years, his pride and joy was spending time with his grandchildren, who he would call his “entertainment”. He would laugh the entire time they were together, and it is apparent that his humor is being passed down to them.

John is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Mary Jane, his son Joe von Stetten (wife Natalie von Stetten), his daughter Julie Bricker (husband Bryan Bricker), and grandchildren Emma and Dylan. He will be deeply missed by everyone that was fortunate to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 11AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 W. Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
