John Preston Rodes, Jr., 41, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away suddenly on November 10, 2024. “Jay” was born in Virginia on February 18, 1983 to John Preston Rodes, Sr. and the late Judy Coleman Rodes. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Reynolds Rodes and his daughter Fiona; his sister Leigh Rodes Dunn, brother-in-law Ryan Dunn, niece Virginia, and nephews Logan & Carter; his mother-in-law Jeanne and father-in-law Robert; his brother-in-law Sean Reynolds, sister-in-law Katlyn Reynolds and niece Eloise; and many dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jay was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend who had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many that were blessed to know him. He loved his family with all his heart. Jay was so proud to become a dad. He loved spending time with Fiona, he could always get her to giggle and smile, he taught her how to wave hello & goodbye and give a high-five, and of course Fiona’s first word was “da-da”. Jay had a passion for cars that was also shared by Jennifer, so it is one that we’ll continue to pursue with Fiona. Jay also enjoyed going to the beach, creating craft cocktails (especially sipping on specialty tequila), and spending time with friends at the local breweries.
Jay’s passing has left a huge hole in all our hearts, but we know he is now in heaven with his mom and is a Guardian Angel watching over his family, especially Jennifer and Fiona. We know you’ll always be looking down watching Fiona as she grows up to be a strong and courageous girl and that you’ll be with us for all her big milestones. We will always keep your memory alive and do our best to ensure all the dreams and wishes you had for Fiona come true. We rest in the assurance of knowing you are at peace and that we will see you again when we get to heaven.
A private family viewing and memorial service will be held on November 21, from 2:00-5:00pm at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL. A Celebration of Life will also be held for family and friends on November 23, at 3:00pm at NOBO Brewing Company at 2901 Commerce Park Drive, Boynton Beach, FL, 33426. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to Fiona’s college fund. Until a direct link to Fiona’s college fund is available, donations can be made to Jennifer via Zelle using phone number 954-856-7441 or by clicking the "Donations" Tab at the top of the page. Thank you to everyone for your kind words and support through this heartbreaking time.
