John P. Lebel, 85, Boca Raton FL, formerly of Spencer, Ma passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 11,2024 in Trustbridge Hospice of Boca Raton after a brief illness.
John was born in Worcester, MA (Main South) The Son of the late Elphege and Edith (Howe) Lebel. He Graduated St John’s High School, then served time in the Navy briefly before settling into the family automotive business, Speedway Auto Body Works on Mill St. in Worcester. After that he worked for the town of Spencer as caretaker for many of the Municipality buildings, and served as Park Commissioner, retiring after 20 years, and settling in Florida. He was a carpenter and was considered a jack of all trades as there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix. He had a love of golf, bowling and horse/dog racing.
He leaves his wife, Linda Lebel of Boca Raton; a son, Shawn Lebel and husband Albert Bercume of Lake Worth, FL; 3 daughters, Karen Boucher of Whitinsville; Lois LeGere of Woonsocket, RI; and Tanya LeBlanc of Putnam, CT, stepdaughters Christina Wiseman, Martta Plouffe, and Maria Bianco, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his 2 brothers, Elphege and Paul of Spencer; 2 sisters, Marie St Thomas of Sterling and Bernice Lebel, Sister of Providence, and niece Diane St Denis.
His first wife Patricia Lebel offers condolences.
