John Joseph Campbell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at the age 85 on May 12, 2025 in his home in Delray Beach, Florida surrounded by his family.
Born on September 23, 1939 in New Haven, Connecticut, John is the son of John Henry and Bernice Barbara Campbell. John served in the US Army, stationed in Germany and married Lyse in Quebec City in 1965. John earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Haven. John’s professional journey spanned 30 years at General Dynamics/Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut before he retired in 1995. John spent most of his adult life in Waterford, Connecticut; Folsom, California; and Delray Beach, Florida.
John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lyse Campbell, his children Michele (Peter) Ruscito, John Patrick (Elizabeth) Campbell, Christopher (Roselle) Campbell, Andrew Campbell, his 7 grandchildren - Christopher (Jimin), Matthew, Michael, Jessica Ruscito, and Joey, Nicolas, Vincent Campbell, one great grandchild Anthony Ruscito Lee, and his sister Barbara Douglas. His death was preceded by his parents, John Henry and Bernice Campbell; his brother Robert “Bob” Campbell; and his brother-in-law Ken Douglas.
John’s life was defined by love, integrity, and an unwavering devotion to family. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and the many lives he touched.

Visitation: May 19, 2025, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, Florida.
Funeral Mass: May 20, 2025, at 1pm at Emmanual Catholic Church,15700 South Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida.
Burial & Celebration of Life: May 29, 2025, at 12:30PM at South Florida National Cemetery 6501 S State Rd 7, Lake Worth, Florida.
