John Paul Dover

John Paul Dover, 76, passed away on August 30, 2025 peacefully in his home at the age of 76 in Boca Raton, FL.

John was born in Chicago, IL to the late Earl and Dorothy Dover. He grew up in Chicago, and Graduated from Valparaiso University. John was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity. Following graduation, John started his career as a commercial banker with First National Bank of Hinsdale before joining Northern Trust to open their first ever loan production office in South Florida. During his time at First National Bank of Hinsdale, John met his wife Cindy, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage with.

John was a self-proclaimed “car guy,” loved playing golf, and was a lifelong Cubs fan. He also enjoyed his time acting as the Delray Dunes Country Club president and loved spending time with his three grandkids. John cared deeply about his faith and was an active member of the St. Paul Lutheran congregation in Boca Raton, FL.

John is survived by his wife, Cindy, and his daughter and two sons: Christina (Christopher) Lemeuix, John Paul Dover Jr. (Margo), and Grant Dover(Hilary), three grandchildren, Juliette, Harper, and Maxwell, and his brother, David Dover of Chicago, IL.

A small, family memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church (Boca Raton, FL) or Mountainside Lutheran Church (Linville, NC).
