Joel Lumer, of Delray Beach, Florida passed away on December 15, 2024 at the age of 75. Joel was born on June 13, 1949 in Takoma Park, Maryland. He graduated from Duke University School of Law in 1973 and then embarked on a fifty-year long career as a brilliant and well-respected lawyer.
In his younger years, Joel served in the Army Reserves. Throughout his life he was a strong supporter of our U.S. military. He was a proud patriot who loved limited government, strong military defense and adherence to the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
To those who were fortunate to call him a friend, Joel was generous, loyal and a great listener. He enjoyed sharing meals and long conversations with friends. He loved baseball and attending Miami Marlins games. Joel was a laid back soul who was always up for anything, but he was also someone with an incredible work ethic who spent endless hours at the office and zealously advocated for his clients. He will be missed dearly by many, including his friends.
Joel is predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Alice Lumer, and his older brother Marc.
Joel will be laid to rest at Fairway Memorial Garden with a graveside service in Deerfield Beach, FL on Sunday, February 16th, at 10:30am.
