Joanne Parisi

Joanne Parisi passed away peacefully the morning of February 21, 2020 with her husband, and loving family by her side.

Joanne was born on November 17th, 1944 in Springfield, Massachusetts. She was the beloved wife of Dominick Parisi for 57 years. As parents to their two daughters, Ellen and Julianne, they lived throughout New England before settling in Deer Isle, Maine. It was here that they created lasting memories as innkeepers of Goose Cove Lodge. Joanne and Dom have spent the past three years in Deerfield Beach, FL riding their bikes together, making new memories and enjoying the sunshine of South Florida. One of Joanne’s greatest passions was for her family, especially her grandchildren, Kristen, Steven, Cicelea, David, Brandon, Raegan & Jada who knew her affectionately as “Grandma J”. She was a lover of the arts, and a talented cook; constantly testing and sharing recipes for her friends and loves ones. Later in life, she pursued painting, often drawing from scenes of the Maine seacoast. After leaving Deer Isle for Connecticut, Joanne carried her hospitable ways with her and loved to reconnect with friends from all facets of her life. She was the light of every room; always recognizable by her poise, grace, warmth and style.

Joanne was loved immensely and will be dearly missed by her husband Dominick of Deerfield Beach FL, her children Ellen Parisi and partner Edward Moses of FL, Julianne Parisi Rioux and her partner Timothy Cornwell of CT; Joanne’s brother, sisters and in-laws, Joseph Sullivan and wife Donna, Martha Bigelow and husband Bill, Dr. Phyllis Gleoklar and Terri Sullivan, Joanne’s pre-deceased mother and father, Phyllis and Joseph Sullivan, and brother Steven Sullivan.

Joanne’s memory will live on in the hearts of many friends and family alike. She touched so many lives, as a friend, a nurturer, a teacher and guiding light.

A memorial ride is planned in Joanne’s honor on Saturday, April 18 at 9 am beginning in the parking lot of Harwood I, around Century Village, Deerfield Beach, FL. Friends of Joanne and Dominick are encouraged to join Dominick for this ride.

A summer memorial service will be held in Springfield, MA on Friday evening June 19, 2020. To be notified of place and time, please email ellen@parisimanagementgroup.com.
