Joan (Heldt) Wise, 85, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026. Born on May 26, 1941, in St. Paul, Minnesota, she was a proud graduate of Randolph High School in Randolph, Ohio. Joan lived a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.
Joan was a talented florist whose creativity brought beauty and joy to countless lives. She also embraced her role as a homemaker with pride, creating a warm and welcoming home where family and friends always felt loved. Her greatest accomplishments were not measured by her career, but by the relationships she nurtured and the countless memories she created with those she loved.
Joan had an infectious zest for life. She loved swimming, spending time at the beach, cruising, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. She was also an enthusiastic sports fan, especially when it came to baseball and basketball, and rarely missed the chance to cheer on her favorite teams. Whether she was planning her next adventure, watching a game, or simply soaking up the Florida sunshine, she approached every day with enthusiasm and gratitude. She was fun, outgoing, and always full of life, with a smile that could brighten any room.
Her Christian faith provided strength and guidance throughout her life and was reflected in the kindness, generosity, and compassion she extended to others. Joan especially cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings, holidays, and simple moments together were among her greatest joys. She also treasured sharing “happy hours” with friends, creating laughter and lasting memories that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Joan is lovingly survived by her son, John Wise, and his wife, Brenda; her daughter, Mina Wise; her beloved granddaughters, Anna Wise and Julia Wise; her sister, Judith Coryell; her brother, Richard Hamilton, and his wife, Joanne; her sister-in-law, Bette Hamilton; and many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed by her warmth, friendship, and generous spirit.
Joan’s legacy lives on through the love she shared, the kindness she showed, and the joyful example she set for those around her. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always held close in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation in Joan’s memory, honoring her life and helping support those affected by breast cancer.
Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord. Joan’s love, laughter, and vibrant spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will remain a lasting blessing, and she will be deeply missed every day.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
