Jere Timothy Quinn Sr., 64, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed away on June 10, 2026, having squeezed just about every drop of fun out of life that a person possibly could.

Jere grew up in Chicago, the ninth of ten children. He built a long career with the Chicago Transit Authority, working his way up to the title of Director.

He knew how to enjoy life. He loved to travel: cruises, tropical getaways, trips through Europe, and road trips closer to home. He loved live music too, with somewhere between 1 and 400 concerts circled on his calendar at any given moment. Many knew him as "Mr. Clipboard" for always handling every detail, from the limo pickup to the champagne on the plane.

All that planning was never just for him. Trips, concerts, and plans always came with extra tickets and open invitations. His 15th anniversary started as a romantic getaway for just him and Gunita and grew into a two-week cruise extravaganza with 13 people. Even his weekly pool league was as much about the regulars as the game. His door was always open, and friends and family were always welcome to stop in for a home-cooked meal and a glass or two of wine from the right side (an inside joke - ask the family when you see them). Jere believed the best moments only mattered when they were shared.

The greatest joy of his life was his family. He took deep pride in his wife and his children, and lit up watching his grandson carry the family name forward.

Jere was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Quinn and Mary-Lou Quinn, and his brothers, Jim Quinn and Marty Quinn. He is survived by his wife, Gunita Quinn; his son, Jere Quinn Jr. (wife Cassie Quinn and grandson Jere Quinn III); and his daughters, Rachel Hosea (husband Brandon Hosea) and Sofija Kane (husband Paul Kane). He is also survived by his seven siblings and their extended families: Susie Lichter, Bridget Copeland, John Quinn, Rita Quinn, Ann Quinn, Michael Quinn and Jean Sloan.

A celebration of life - and it will be a celebration, just as he'd want - will be held at Glick Funeral Home on June 18, 2026, from 4-8 p.m. Come ready to share a story, raise a glass, and queue up the music.
