Jeanette Yerike Koch of Boca Raton, FL was a caring mother, doting grandmother, loving wife and passionate friend. Jeanette went to be with the Lord on November 20th, 2021 at the age of 75. “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die.’” (John 11:25)
Jeanette was born on September 10, 1946 in Kearny, New Jersey as the only child of Alexander and Natalie Yerike. Although she had no siblings, she grew up among many cousins. Upon graduation from high school, Jeanette studied secretarial skills, and started a career as a top notch administrative and executive assistant. Soon, she met and fell in love with Robert Lawrence Koch, and the two were married on March 8, 1970. Job opportunities led the couple to Connecticut, eventually settling in Southbury, where they welcomed and raised their three children, Matthew, Jeremy, and Adam. Jeanette was widowed on August 4th, 1987. As a single mother, she worked tirelessly to provide for and nurture her rambunctious boys, which was no small task. When her boys were no longer around to shovel the snow, she moved to Boca Raton, Florida to escape the cold New England winters. While in Florida, Jeanette continued working and expanding her network of friends. She also loved being “Nana” and enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and keeping up with their many activities. Jeanette had a vivacious and persevering spirit. She was tough and fiercely independent, while also being compassionate and kind. She enjoyed good meals with friends and family, loved to laugh, and loved to spend time near the water. Jeanette is dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Jeanette is survived by her children Matthew (Kim) Koch of Torrington, CT, Jeremy (Katie) Mitchell-Koch of Wichita, KS, and Adam (Blythe) Koch of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Gabriel, Natalie, Cooper, and Blake Koch, and Molly, Peter, and Levi Mitchell-Koch; and brothers-in-law Roger (Amy) Koch and David (Louise) Koch of NJ.
A memorial service will be held at the Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431 on Tuesday, December 21st at 10:00am ET. Livestream will be available at http://meet.google.com/rgn-rmjx-djn.
