James Vincent Piscano, 88, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away at his home on May 17, 2026.
He was born on June 2, 1937, in the Bronx, New York, to Miriam and Mathew Piscano.
James proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Reserve, carrying with him a lifelong sense of duty and discipline.
He was a graduate of Manhattan college, earning a degree in Accounting.
On September 7, 1963, James married the love of his life, Joanne, with whom he shared a devoted and enduring marriage until her passing in August 2022. Together, they built a strong and loving family, creating a life centered on commitment, resilience, and deep care for one another.
James and Joanne made their home in Monroe, New York, where they lived for 45 years before retiring to Boca Raton, Florida. James spent many years as a corporate accountant. Later, he pursued his entrepreneurial spirit by opening a video store in Monroe, where he became a familiar and welcoming presence in the community. He also worked as a realtor and prepared taxes for H&R Block, continuing to help others with care and dedication—even into his later years.
James enjoyed a wide range of hobbies. He was an avid collector of stamps, coins, and baseball cards, and he enjoyed playing tennis, softball, and bowling, and followed all sports. He also found great enjoyment in gardening.
He was a fun-loving man who truly enjoyed the company of others. Known as the life of the party, James had a rare gift for bringing people together and making them feel welcome. To know him was to love him. He befriended everyone he met and filled countless moments with laughter. Those closest to him often said no one could make them laugh harder, and time spent with him, whether at brunch, dinner, or simply together, was always something special. Even in his later years, he remained young at heart, never losing his sense of humor or his joy for life.
Though his sudden passing was deeply felt, his family takes comfort in the many years they were blessed to share with him—knowing that no amount of time would ever have felt like enough.
Above all else, James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Donna Valentini (Louis), James Piscano (Kathy), and David Piscano (Rea), and his cherished grandchildren, Amanda & Matthew (Chloe) Valentini and Michael & Olivia Piscano, as well as several nieces and nephews. He took immense pride in his family and found great joy in watching it grow across generations.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Joanne; his parents, Miriam and Mathew Piscano; his sister, Anita Cabret; and his brother, Paul Piscano.
James will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his strong work ethic, and the warmth, laughter, and love he brought into the lives of those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 20th at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.
The family requests expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers be made to the American Heart Association
