James Louis LaRiche, age 64, gained his angel wings on July 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy, longtime resident of Boca Raton, FL was born in Cleveland, OH on March 25th, 1961.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maureen Marie (Gallagher) LaRiche, his son James Louis, his daughter Juliet Marie and his ever faithful dog, Finn. Also survived by 6 siblings & their spouses: Michele (Paul) Griffeth, Jackie (Doug Stamm) Gordon, Scott (Dawn) LaRiche, John (Sahar) LaRiche, Bob (Tiare) LaRiche and Suzie (Mark) Merucci. Jimmy was blessed with Maureen’s siblings as well, who loved and treated him as their own brother: Joseph/J.F. (Kelly) Gallagher, Daniel/Danny Gallagher and Patrick/Pat Gallagher. Along with his numerous siblings, Jimmy was loved by many, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Henry & Gail Francis LaRiche and his father-in-law, Joseph Frances Gallagher.
Jimmy was the 5th of 7 children born to Louis Henry LaRiche and Gail Francis LaRiche. He spent 9 of his childhood years in Ohio and then moved to Plymouth, MI where he lived until his mid 20’s. South Florida then became his new home, where he built a life with his beautiful wife, Maureen.
Jimmy’s earlier years were spent growing up amidst 6 siblings, chasing his big brothers and getting bossed around by his big sisters. Much of his time was spent outside; from building forts, to riding motor bikes and snow mobiles, Jimmy was always looking for action. In grade school, at Our Lady of Good Counsel/Plymouth, MI, Jimmy was an altar server and played basketball. A 1979 graduate from Salem High School/Plymouth, MI, Jimmy participated in the dive team and made many lifelong friends.
Once an adult, Jimmy never lost that zest for life. He had endless energy and a drive to succeed. This led him to sunny South Florida where he used that drive to build a successful valet parking company at a young age and create the foundation for his family to have a beautiful life.
Jimmy loved his time on the golf course, family ski trips out west, the thrill of a rollercoaster, going to concerts, swimming on a hot Florida day, and neighborhood walks with Finn. He cherished watching his son and daughter participate in their favorite sports and activities. His children were his world, and he took pride in being their biggest fan from the sidelines.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM on Friday, July 18 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton.
Those wishing to honor Jimmy’s memory are invited to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://alz.org.
