Irene Florence Arnone, born on October 22nd, 1953 in Manhattan, NY, rested on May 12th, 2026 at 7:14 pm. During her final weeks, she was surrounded by all of her loved ones, taking care of her, comforting her, and ensuring her last moments were peaceful.
The daughter of James Louis Cioffi and Clara Julia Salerno, she grew up in Flushing and graduated from their local high school named after the city. She spent the majority of her early years living in New York, where she met her now husband Frank. They married on November 10th, 1974, and began their next chapter, parenthood and the real world. They birthed two beautiful boys, Carmine and Jimmy. Through parenthood, they continued to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and began a salvage yard business in Corona, NY near Shea Stadium. In the early 90s, they relocated to Boca Raton, FL, where they took their dreams and family, to continue growing with new additions of grandchildren Brandon and Jaylin.
Irene spent 16 years working as a para-professional at Whispering Pines Elementary School for the Palm Beach County School Board. She not only worked with the children, but also closely worked with the families personally, as their children grew and helped with raising them far past childhood. She made it a habit to keep in touch with the families throughout her lifetime. However, she got the most joy from spending quality time with her grandchildren. Whether it was a trip to Stuart, dinner at the Rustic Inn, or just staying home cuddling, nothing mattered more to her than giving her grandchildren a fulfilling life. She also enjoyed visiting her nieces and nephews in NY and traveling with her family, especially cruising. In her prime, you could see her in the kitchen every Sunday, preparing breakfast for her family after a fun weekend, and then also making homemade gravy for Sunday family dinner. Irene was a strong, caring woman who would never close her door to anyone. She carried values to be strong, stand firm, and enjoy life, which she instilled in her grandchildren.
Irene is survived by husband Frank Joseph Arnone, sons Carmine Frank Arnone and James Pat Arnone and his wife Jessica, grandchildren Brandon-James (Peanut) Brian Arnone and Jaylin (Sweetpea) Clair Arnone, sisters Francine Cervasio and husband Peter, Jamie Vitale and husband Joey, sister-in-law Phyllis Nicolini and her husband Jeff, nieces and nephew Cathy DeMaio, Anthony Cervasio, Julia Cervasio, Christina Nicolini, and Joanna Vitale, and her loving daughter-in-law Rubie Noel. She was preceded in death by her parents James Louis Cioffi and Clara Julia Salerno.
A gathering of family and friend will be held 2-6 PM on Saturday, May 30th at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, where a Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 PM.
