Herman Ortiz, 94, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well lived. Born on May 23, 1931, in New York City, Herman brought light and energy into the world from the very beginning.
A proud graduate of New York State University, Herman went on to build a remarkable career as a successful businessman. His work took him across the globe, but no matter where he was, his heart was always with his family. His vibrant stories, sharp mind, and signature smile—which was truly infectious—left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Herman is survived by his best friend and former wife, Sonia; his beloved children, Soraya and Robert; his cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Kristin, Daniella, Justin, and Samuel; and his precious great-grandchildren, Carmella and Elliott. He was deeply proud of his family and loved watching each generation grow.
Whether he was traveling the world, spending time with family, or simply sharing a story with a twinkle in his eye, Herman lived each day with joy and curiosity. His memory will live on in the laughter he inspired and the love he gave so freely.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
John 10:27-30
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 / give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than alla; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. 30 | and the Father are one."
