In Loving Memory

Helio A. Madrigal Aparicio, 82, Boca Raton, passed away on November 10, 2021 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones in the comfort of his home.
 
Helio was born on July 3, 1939 in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba where he attended both high school and university, ultimately graduating with a bachelor's of science degree.
Helio fell in love with the girl next door, Merfi Jimenez, when he tutored her in algebra after school. They married in the summer of 1961, going on to have two beautiful daughters, Ileana and Isel.
 
The family moved to the United States in 1971, and after a few moves around the tri-state area, finally settled in Boca Raton. Helio had many technical professions over the years, but the bulk of his career was spent at Motorola.
 
After retiring in 2007, Helio spent his time doing what he loved most: fishing; cooking & spending time with friends and family; building & fixing things; gardening his fruit trees & orchids; enjoying his bird sanctuary; playing an active role in his church as a eucharistic minister; and volunteering at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.  
Helio is survived by his family: his wife of 60 wonderful years, Merfi; his daughters, Ileana & Isel; his son-in-law, John; and his 4 grandchildren: Jessica, Eric, Jose and Josel.
 
Helio's family will always remember him for his hearty laugh that filled every room, his incredible cooking & Christmas lechón, his generous heart - he would help anyone with no hesitation or complaints, his ability to fix or build literally anything and his unconditional love for his family.
 
A visitation will be held from 3-7 PM on Sunday, November 14 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 15 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton.  Entombment will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.
