Helene Martha Farrell, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 26th, 2025, in her Boca Raton home of 54 years. Helene was born on December 20th, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, to Henry Price, of Brooklyn, and Helen Galvin Price, of Inchigeela, County Cork, Ireland.
A graduate of Bishop McDonnell Memorial High School, Helene later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brooklyn College. On June 2nd, 1956, Helene married her college sweetheart, Edward Alexander Farrell, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Brooklyn. The couple started their family in Brooklyn and later moved to Long Island with their growing family. In 1971, the Farrell family moved to Boca Raton for Edward’s career promotion, and Helene began teaching at Boca Raton Community High School.
While teaching, Helene obtained her real estate license and soon after became a master real estate broker and a Top Sales Person in South Florida. Helene was a founding member of Boca Real Estators Inc. in 1978 and over the years, as the Broker and Owner, employed hundreds of real estate agents. An absolute pioneer in South Florida real estate, Helene was known throughout the area for her “Experience with Integrity,” a phrase she lived by. As a Boca Raton real estate leader for over five decades, Helene was a huge part of South Florida’s growth from the 1970s to present day.
A devout Roman Catholic and parishioner of Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Helene lived her faith in all that she did. Helene served as a Eucharistic Minister and was an esteemed member of the Catholic Realtors of the Archdiocese of Palm Beach County, receiving their first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023. Helene taught religious education, provided the Eucharist to the homebound, and was a valued member of the Order of the Sword of the Coat of Arms Society, which provides support necessary to ensure the strength of the Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church Community.
Helene was predeceased by her husband, Edward Alexander Farrell, in 2012, and her sons, Robert Michael Farrell in 1970 and Henry Joseph Farrell in 2012. Helene is survived by her loving children, Anne Helene Markoe (Richard), Edward Patrick Farrell (Mary Rose), Margaret Elizabeth Longazel (Dennis), Noreen Helen Kelly (David), and Dennis Lawrence Farrell (Elizabeth); as well as her 12 cherished grandchildren and 10 beloved great-grandchildren.
Helene’s greatest legacy is her deep love of faith and family.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, where a wake service will begin at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, June 6th, 2025, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Burial will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
