C. Gregory (Greg) Feil, 84, passed away peacefully at home in Boynton Beach with family at his side. After battling lung cancer courageously for nearly six years, Greg will finally be reunited with “his Mary”.
Greg grew up in Chicago, the eldest son of Albert and Frances, where he made a name for himself in the automobile business. Climbing the ranks he became a Buick dealer in his mid thirties and ultimately, after packing up the family and moving to Florida, a Cadillac dealer as he led Ocean Cadillac for nearly thirty five years. As an annual Cadillac Master Dealer, an award and accomplishment to the top five percent of National dealers, Greg was able to travel the world with Mary and his top peers within the Cadillac ranks.
In addition to running his business, Greg and Mary were also building a wonderful family with three children and ultimately, grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
The bonds he created lasted a lifetime, whether that be on the business or personal side. Most likely because he was a man of his word and a man of conviction. He was also a man of deep faith as he would take time out of every workday to drop into church and pray and when he retired he would continue that by visiting the seminary across from where he lived nearly every day as well.
When he wasn’t on the job, he was an accomplished golfer and arranged great getaways for his family every year for Father’s Day.
Greg was predeceased by his wife of nearly sixty years, Mary and his middle son, Kevin. He is survived by his son, Gary (Melissa), daughter, Kerry (Todd), as well as grandchildren Kelly (Christian), Corey, Casey, Kate, Noah, Jonah, Aiden, Ava, and great grandson, Cooper. In addition, his brother, Richard (Cindy), brother in law, Tony (Maureen) and nieces and nephews Cara, Chris, Ryan, Brian, Mike, Dan, Michelle, and Laura. Last but not least, his favorite cousins, The McCarthy’s.
A leader by example, he will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at Glick Funeral Home in Boca Raton on Friday, October 24 from 5:00-8:00 with a funeral mass at 11:00 on Saturday, October 25 at St. Vincent DePaul Seminary in Boynton Beach, followed by interment at the Gardens of Boca Raton. In lieu of flowers, a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Wounded Warrior Program would be wonderful as these were causes Greg supported.
