George Nicolas Thiakos, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and nephew, passed away on December 16th, 2025, at the age of 56.
George was the best husband and father anyone could have asked for. He was the epitome of everything right in this world. George and Heather, his wife, have been together since 1992. They made four beautiful children together, Panayiota, Nikolas, Athena, and Democratis.
George was a devoted son to Nicolas Thiakos and Panagiota Thiakos. He was a loving brother to Helen Maiurro (brother-in-law Frank Maiurro) and Dorathy Gass (brother-in-law Bill Gass).
He was loved by brother-in-law Clarke Petty (sister-in-law Robin Petty), sister-in-law Lynne Giard, Marlyse Petty (brother-in-law Goran Cik), and loved by his late brother-in-law Grayden Petty. George was adored by his late mother-in-law Anne Hunter.
George was a loving uncle to Vito, Ellie, Jenny, Steven, Michael, Andrea, Maddeline, Janine, and the Maravelas children. George was a beloved nephew to Tasso, Olga, Mary, and the late Kosta Maravelas. Also to Tasia Brezerakou (late John), Olibia Karnika (Michael), Vassiliki Frangoulis (George), Katina Zaravino, and the late Panagiota Thiakos.
He loved his Koumbaros the late Vince Semedalas and Judy. He was a loving Koumbaros to John Grant and Penni.
George was a devout member of St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church and loved his AHEPA brothers very much.
George was a devoted Greek Orthodox Christian. His faith and his family meant everything to him. He was a walking angel to anyone he crossed paths with. Nothing in this world will ever be the same. He was the most selfless and loving man gracing the earth. He always gave and never took. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family.
May his perfect memory be eternal.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church.
