George Stapan, born on August 28, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois before moving to Plymouth, Indiana. He served in the Navy as a radioman and teaching Morse Code. After leaving the service, he moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and then settled in Boca Raton, Florida. George had a thriving electronics business in suburban Philadelphia for many years before moving to Florida. In Boca Raton, he worked as a general contractor for the remainder of his career. George recently celebrated his 90th birthday before passing on October 9, 2021.
George is survived by his wife, Nina, his son, and daughter-in-law George Jr. and Patti as well as his son Grant. Also his daughters Pakhtigian and Tina Salerno, and loving grandchildren Jordan and John Salerno. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Stapan Townsend, and nieces Tammy Stapan Schmidt and Debi Stapan.
George's service to the Armenian Church was exemplary as he served for fifty-plus years as Parish Council Chairman and committee member, kitchen pro (shishkebab officianeado), chief cook, bottle washer, as well as in many other capacities. He was truly a faithful and devoted member.
George was a kind man, and an excellent family man and father. He was devoted to his family, children, and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at St. David Armenian Church on October 14, 2021 at 10AM with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM.
