George Dunn Obituary

George was born in Brooklyn, the son of the late Mary and George Dunn, lived in St. Teresa's parish (Brooklyn) with his sister, the late Kathleen Shovlin, and brother, the late Joseph Dunn. He attended St. Francis Prep and St. John's University and enjoyed being an active alumnus.  He married the love of his life in  August of 1961 at Saint Agnes Cathedral where he was a longtime member.  They lived and raised three wonderful children in Rockville Centre, NY.

George, a CPA, had his own successful business in the heart of Rockville Centre.  His credits show how generous he was in spirit with everyone.  He was past Chairman of the Board at Mercy Medical Center (Rockville Centre, NY), a past President of the Friends of Mercy, and a proud recipient of the Theodore Roosevelt Award.  He also served on many Boards at St Agnes Cathedral, The Diocese of Rockville Centre, and St Mary’s Children’s Hospital.  He was a long time member of The Order of The Holy Sepulchre.

George will be waked on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2-4 pm at  the Glick Family Funeral Home, located at 3600 No. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida.  Funeral Mass at 10am Monday at St. Lucy's.    In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Saint Lucy's Catholic Church at 3510 S.
