Frank Van Amburgh DVM, age 83, passed away peacefully after a life defined by dedication, kindness, and quiet strength. Born on January 12, 1943, in Hackensack, New Jersey, Frank built a life centered on family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Frank pursued a career as a veterinarian, a profession that reflected his patient nature and compassion for animals. Throughout his life, he was known by those around him as a thoughtful, gentle, and dependable man who approached both his work and personal relationships with care and integrity.
Beyond his professional life, Frank had many passions. As a young man he loved animals and had a horse named “Pickles”, who he dearly loved. He also enjoyed farming and found great satisfaction in working the land with his tractor on his horse farm, in Wellington, Florida. He also loved boating and spending time on the water. Later in life, Frank became involved in owning and operating commercial real estate in Boca Raton, Florida, where he continued to apply his strong work ethic and business sense.
Above all else, Frank cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Michele Van Amburgh, and a loving father to his son, Frank Carmen Van Amburgh. Those who knew him remember him as a kind and patient man who loved his wife and son deeply and took great pride in his family.
Frank is the son of the late Rose and Frank Van Amburgh, and his step father, the late Frank Taylor. Frank is survived by his sister, Rosemary Kirchner, widow of the late Bob Kirchner and brother, Jeffrey Taylor, and his wife Sherrie Taylor, and his brothers-in-law, Carmine J. Ottilio and Anthony V. Ottilio; along with a host of other family members and friends who will remember him with love and gratitude.
Frank’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his generosity, warmth, and steady presence. He will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
