Fannie Trapani, age 84, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at home from a broken heart and old age. Sadly her husband, Carmelo Trapani, passed away only 13 days earlier on December 6, 2024.
Fay was born on May 2, 1940 in Brooklyn, NY. She was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph & Carmella (Pagano) Mancuso. A devoted wife of 61 years, Fay shared a beautiful life with her cherished husband, Carmelo Trapani. Their enduring love and companionship were an inspiration to all who knew them. Fay was a loving and caring mother of son, William Trapani, wife Yessica and daughter, Maria Botero and husband Jimmy. Grandmother to: Isabella, Joseph, Nicolas, Daniela, Christopher and Daniel. She was a cherished sister to the late Raymond Mancuso. Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Fay took immense pride in her family and was a constant source of support, love and guidance including calling all family members and friends when in need. Her legacy of faith, kindness, strength and dedication lives on thru her children and all those whose lives she touched. Wherever she went, she was greeted with smiles and everyone would comment on how they loved her and how she would make everyone laugh and smile no matter what. Fay always lit up the room when she entered.
Fay pursued a career as an administrative assistant working on Wall Street. She loved her typewriter. At the end of her career, she had the honor of working in the World Trade Center (Twin Towers) for Fuji Fire & Marine Insurance and later Kemper Insurance in the early 90’s. After retirement, she and her family relocated to South Florida ultimately settling in Delray Beach. Fay led an active life. Her daily exercise included power walking and riding her bike. She enjoyed cooking, babysitting for her grandchildren and volunteered at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Fay had a warm smile and generous spirit. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking Sunday sauce. The smell of her sauce brought the family together and will be truly missed. She loved having family and friends over for dinner frequently. Her personality was a representation of love, kindness, empathy and compassion for all that she came in contact with. She will always be remembered as a strong, moral and faithful Roman Catholic. She attended weekly mass for her entire marriage and was quite proud of her titles, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
A few hours before her death, Fay mentioned that “she would not be with us much longer”. She knew that heaven awaited her and she received the final sacrament of “the Last Rites” by a priest 1 hour before her death.
Mom & Grandma: you are forever in our hearts.
