Eva Asencio Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Eva Asencio at the age of 86 on June 30, 2024. Born in Cuba in 1937, Eva's journey through life was marked by unwavering kindness, selflessness, and a deep devotion to her family and faith.

Eva raised her family in Cuba before moving to the United States in 1992, where she continued to build a loving home. She raised two children and had seven grandchildren, nurturing many of the grandchildren as if they were her own children. Her love and care extended beyond her immediate family, as she often looked after others, embodying the spirit of generosity and compassion.

Eva was deeply protective of her loved ones, always ensuring their safety and well-being. Her selflessness knew no bounds; even during tough times, she made sure others were taken care of and fed before herself.

A devout Seventh-day Adventist, Eva's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She attended church every Saturday, and in her later years, found great joy in reading and rewriting the Bible. Her commitment to her faith was evident from a young age; she would walk through her neighborhood gathering children to take them to church, ensuring they returned home safely after the service.

Eva's early life was marked by resilience and determination. At the tender age of 15, she took on a job to support her family during difficult times. As the oldest of seven siblings, she was always aware of her family's needs, consistently offering her help and support.

A talented hairdresser and an excellent cook, Eva's home was always filled with warmth and hospitality. She had a vibrant social life, often hosting gatherings for friends and family. Her love for games like dominoes and Parcheesi brought joy and laughter to many occasions. In her later years, she found delight in completing puzzles, a testament to her enduring spirit and love for life's simple pleasures.

Eva Asencio's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and generosity. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for her unwavering devotion to family, her boundless kindness, and her enduring spirit.

May she rest in peace.
