Douglas Richard Dudeck (March 15, 1961 to May 29, 2022). Beware the Ides of March.
After a long 8 plus year battle with multiple health issues Douglas passed away at Boynton Beach Rehabilitation Center, in his sleep. He was preceded in death in 2021 by his loving wife of 31 years, Pamela Soden Dudeck. He is survived by son Joseph Mion and his wife Ashleigh Mion; His sister Elizabeth Dudeck Bonazinca and her husband Stephen Bonazinca; and his brother Michael Stephen Dudeck III and his wife Shannon Dudeck.
Douglas graduated in from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1979 and immediately relocated to Florida, living and working the Boca Raton area for 43 years. He earned both his Bachelor and Master Degrees from Lynn University (College of Boca Raton) where he also worked for 15 years as a Resident Assistant and Assistant Athletic Director. He spent most of his working life in education, after serving briefly as a Boca Raton Police Officer before becoming injured. He taught school at All-Star Academy (American Heritage Boca/Delray), North Broward Preparatory, Carver Middle, Boca Middle and closed his career at Okeeheelee Middle School before becoming disabled. Douglas flourished in the classroom, especially when working with students with learning disabilities, often personally recognized for his students successes.
Douglas also leaves behind beloved sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law‘s, as well as 12 nieces and nephews and 19 grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks instead for donations to be made in his name to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Association, as both diseases have taken too many of our family members over the last 25 years.
The celebration of Doug's life will be held at the Glick Funeral Home 3600 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton FL on Saturday, June 11, 2022 beginning from 2-5 PM with a short service beginning at 4:30 PM. A reception will be held from 5 - 7 PM at Renzo‘s Pizzeria Restaurant, 6900 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL.
