Donald Richard Scanlon

Donald Richard Scanlon went to be with the Lord September 27, 2021. 

He was originally from Buffalo, NY born on March 14, 1942.  He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1961 and entered the U.S. Navy.  After serving he started work with IBM here in Boca Raton for 30 years.  Retired in 1992 as a Customer Service Specialist.  During those years he met and Married Barbara Stetser Scanlon from Hallandale, Florida.  They have been married 56 years.

A wonderful husband, father and grandfather.  Barbara and Don have two children, David Alan Scanlon born 1967 and Kimberly Lynn Knatt born 1969.  Two grandchildren Casey Nicole McDuffie born 1998 and Dylan Knatt born 2005.

Don was interested in volunteering all his life.  He was a volunteer fireman with the Kenilworth Fire Company, Town of Tonawanda, NY and later he volunteered with the Boca Raton Police Department for 20 years.  He is survived by his wife Barbara, his son David, Kim and Ron Knatt his daughter and son in law, his grandchildren, his sister Sharon Norman of Boca Raton, FL and his nephew, Mark Norman of Madrid, NY.

Private services will be held October 1, 2021.
