Detra was born on November 18, 1980, in Providence, Rhode Island. She spent the first ten years of her life in the Ocean State, where a large part of her extended family still resides. At ten years old, she moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where, with the support of her family, she continued pursuing her tremendous passion for ballet. She was one of the first members of Boca Ballet Theatre, where she honed her craft and became one of its brightest up-and-coming stars. She attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and Pope John Paul II Catholic High School, graduating with the Class of 1998.
Her college years were spent at the University of Miami, where she was a member of the Gamma Alpha Chapter of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Detra further continued her academic career, earning a Master’s degree in Business from Florida Atlantic University in 2005.
A licensed realtor since 2002, Detra was a consummate professional with Compass Florida, dedicating herself to helping her clients with the perfect balance of vigor and genuine honesty through every transaction.
Detra is survived by her husband, Jere; her four children, Xavier, Colin, Eli, and Giovanna; her parents, Frank and Darlene Dino; her parents-in-law, Jerry and Dolores Croke; her sisters, Domenique Dino-Martin and Bianca Dino; her brother, Brett Foster; her sisters-in-law, Tabitha Robbins, Andrea Croke, and Milla Foster; her brothers-in-law, Tobias Croke, Matthew Robbins, and Joe Kaveney; her aunts, Paula Twidale and Barbara Smith; her uncles, Tom DeFelice, Roger DeFelice, and Gary Twidale; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Landon Martin, Jakob Robbins, Olivia Robbins, Lukas Robbins, Eliana Croke, Mariana Croke, Thomas Croke, and Max Foster.
A Mass will be held for Detra Lee at St. Lucy Catholic Church on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM.
