Denise Elizabeth Rossi, 50, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home on November 15, 2021 after a courageous fight with cancer.
Denise was born in Brooklyn, New York on June 15, 1971 to Steve & Joanne Winters. She is survived by her husband Thomas Rossi, her parents, daughters’ Kathleen and Christina Rossi (husband David Balicki) and son Thomas Rossi. She is also survived by her two sisters Patricia Waldner (husband Steven) and Stacy Griffin (husband Dominic). Denise also leaves behind brother in laws, sister in laws and nieces and nephews who love and will miss her dearly.
Denise graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in Manhattan in 1993. After being a doting mother in Kathleen’s early years, Denise went on to become an assistant at Spanish River Christian School and later promoted to the Art teacher. Denise was excited to share her love of art with her students and see them explore their own creativity. During her career, Denise received numerous awards for her dedication and love for her students including 2020 Spanish River Christian School, “Teacher of the Year” and the 2020 Christian Schools of Palm Beach County, “Teacher of the Year”. Denise was humbled by these awards but her true happiness was seeing her students open their creative minds and learn about Jesus.
Her Spanish River Christian School family was a real treasure to Denise, especially during these last four years in her battle with cancer. Denise was a member of Spanish River Community Church where she strengthened her faith and grew in her relationship with the Lord daily. One of her favorite verses was Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on November 20, 2021 at 11am in the Chapel at Spanish River Christian Church located at 2400 Yamato Road Boca Raton, FL 33431
In lieu of flowers, please consider keeping Denise’s legacy by donating to the Denise Rossi Art Fund. Her fund will provide scholarships for outstanding Spanish River Christian School art students.
